Mythological fountain shows need clarity at scale. The audience may be watching from a distance, through mist, light, water movement, and sound, so every image has to read quickly while still carrying cultural weight.
Spark VFX Studios produced the complete media content for Dashavatar, a large-format musical fountain and water-laser show at Janeshwar Mishra Park in Lucknow. Working alongside Folklore Studios, who led creative direction, concept, and music, Spark created a suite of short films and motion pieces that condensed the ten avatars of Vishnu into a cinematic public spectacle.
The project extended Spark VFX Studios work in Projection Mapping and Immersive Experience Design and the Projection Mapping and Fountain Shows portfolio, combining 3D CGI, 2D animation, motion graphics, and water-screen-ready visual design.
The main challenge was translating complex mythological narratives into short, clear sequences that could work on a water-screen and fountain canvas. Each avatar needed to feel distinct, symbolic, and emotionally readable without long exposition.
Large-scale projection added another layer of difficulty. Characters such as Narasimha, Varaha, Rama, Krishna, Devas, and Rakshasas needed strong silhouettes, high contrast, and simplified visual beats so they could remain visible through moving water, laser light, mist, and distance.
The edits also had to synchronize with fountain choreography and Folklore Studios soundscape. Timing, transitions, and dramatic peaks were planned so the media, water, laser, and music could operate as one public show experience.
The objective was to deliver a visually compelling and accessible retelling of Dashavatar for large public audiences at Janeshwar Mishra Park.
Spark VFX Studios structured the media as ten compact mythological chapters, each built around a clear avatar identity, core story moment, and strong visual tableau. This helped the show move quickly while still giving each avatar a memorable cinematic presence.
The production combined 3D character sequences, 2D animation, motion graphics, compositing, and wide-format projection planning. Blender and Unreal Engine were used as permitted production tools for 3D scene creation and visual development, while final media decisions were guided by readability on water, laser, and fountain elements.
Scenes were shaped for outdoor public viewing: bold silhouettes, high-contrast forms, slower heroic reveals, and clear transitions. Avatar transformation moments, deity-scale shots, Deva-versus-Rakshasa imagery, and cosmic water visuals were designed to hold up across distance and mist.
